Children and the elderly are some of the people who are most at risk for MRSA infec tions. MRSA is common in daycare settings because of high physical contact between children in the classroom. MRSA infections are passed from person to person or through contact with contaminated items such as toys, playground equipment, food tables, or carpeting. MRSA infections also take place before and after participation in sports or outdoor games.

CDC Recommends:

- Clean dining tables, utensils, changing tables, high chairs, door knobs, playground equipment and shared benches.
- Wear disposable gloves when disinfecting or treating wounds.
